One of the first herbs we plant in the spring, our Ashwagandha plants start as seedlings in our greenhouse nursery and get transplanted to the field as soon as the frost passes, which is mid-May here in Wisconsin. A native to Northern Africa & India, it needs a very long growing season, so it is also the last of our 25 herbs that we harvest.

After the last frost, we dig up the roots, wash everything clean, and shred them. Then they are steeped in Organic Cane Alcohol within 2 hours of harvest. The mixture sits for several weeks until the extract is as potent as possible.

This year, we only produced a few 5 gallon buckets of tincture, so get this wonderful plant medicine while you can!
