Iced Loose Leaf Tea
How to make iced herbal tea using Sacred Blossom Farm loose leaf teas
Enjoy a new dimension of flavor and refreshment by following our iced herbal tea recipe. Why is Sacred Blossom Farm loose leaf tea the best option for iced tea?:
Our botanicals are whole and natural. The herbs aren’t pulverized, so the flavor, freshness, and medicinal constituents are as potent as can be.
Our tea blends are 100% herbs, mostly grown on our Wisconsin farm within the past 12 months. Enough said!
Loose leaf teas can be brewed twice (or more), so they are usually more economical than teabags.
Our variety of blends and individual bulk herbs allows you to create your own custom tea blends.
You can rest assured knowing that however you prefer to brew our teas, they will boost your health, feel amazing, and taste delicious!
First, get your hands on any of our loose leaf tea blends.
Or create a blend of your own with our bulk herbs!
Each of our 6 herbal tea blends will surprise you with new flavors once you’ve tried them iced. Angel is amazing. We also sell 17 botanicals individually so that you can practice your herbal alchemy on family and friends.
Herbal teas are very forgiving. Don’t worry too much about the amounts - if you like strong tea, add more herbs. The water should be nearly boiling, so pour carefully. Cut the recipe in half for a half-gallon of iced tea.
You may choose to steep for longer than 8 minutes for stronger flavor. More herbal constituents are extracted with longer steep times as well - though sometimes bitter flavors may come through.
For a large batch of iced tea like a gallon, a colander works best to strain with initially. The tea will still be very hot, so use caution! A ceramic pitcher is recommended as glass has the potential to shatter from the temperature shock. Keep the steeped herbs in a jar in the fridge to brew again within 24 hours.
Finally, strain again into a gallon jug using our basket strainer. Add ice to fill.
Our basket strainer is a superfine mesh, allowing no small particles into your precious concoction. Best of all, it’s stainless steel and reusable rather than disposable teabags. This is a must-have for any loose leaf tea drinker.

A few tips:
For smaller servings of iced tea, you may use a French press, a pitcher with a built-in strainer, or reusable teabags for steeping.
Add local honey, fresh fruit, or any other delicious ingredients you love in cold beverages.
Letting herbs steep overnight results in a very potent infusion that is great to sip on the following day - especially blends with roots and barks that benefit from a longer extraction time.
Add ice to taste. Larger ice cubes will melt slower, diluting your drink less and giving you more time to enjoy it!
